Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level I trauma center's night shift position requiring adult critical care and emergency department experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within the Respiratory Therapy department
- Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department patient populations
- Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (1800-0630)
- Every other weekend required
- On-call required as needed for the department
- Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities
- Cerner EMR used for charting
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- BLS and RRT certifications required
- Active Illinois license required at time of application (license required if applicable)
- Cerner charting experience required
- Experience with airway management devices including ET tube, tracheostomy, and oral/nasal suctioning
- Experience with extubation and intubation assist
- Experience with nebulizer therapy including hand held, T-piece, and trach collar
- Experience with oxygen therapy including bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, T-piece, trach collar, and Venturi masks
- Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, high pressure alarm troubleshooting, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
Additional Information
- Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated facility with 562 staffed beds
- Any solid color scrubs permitted
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
- Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
- RTO requests ideally limited to 5 days or fewer
- Candidates must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
- Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility
