Description
American Traveler is seeking an Emergency Department RN with at least 2 years of ED experience and current Oregon RN licensure for a 13-week evening/night contract at a Level II Trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a short-term acute care, teaching hospital
- 1:4 patient-to-nurse ratio in a combined adult/pediatric ED setting
- Evening (3x12, 1500-0330) and night (3x12, 1900-0730) variable shift schedule
- Every other weekend required, with possible back-to-back weekend requests
- Floating to other units and sister facilities based on skill set and facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active Oregon RN license (or Compact RN license) required in hand at submission
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NRP and PALS preferred
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs required
- Blood product administration and central line care/management experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and triage required
- Must have a vehicle for this assignment
Additional Information
- Provide emergency nursing care across general, trauma, and pediatric ED settings within a Level II Trauma Center
- May be required to float between sister facilities in the region based on staffing needs
- Scrubs provided for ED staff; any color scrub accepted otherwise
- No parking fee at the facility
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront; limited flexibility for post-offer schedule changes
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
