Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float Pool RN with 2+ years of comparable acuity hospital experience and Cerner EMR proficiency to float across multiple acute care units.

Details

• Float RN role assigned to various acute care units based on nursing supervisor staffing needs at time of shift
• Potential units include Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Oncology, Ortho, Neuro, Vascular, Pulmonary, and Cardiac Surgery departments
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:45am to 7:15pm with a 30-minute lunch break
• Typical patient ratio is 1:6, though ratios vary by unit and need
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Utilizes Cerner EMR system

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered TN or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a comparable acuity hospital setting required
• Prior hands-on experience with Cerner charting system required
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Float to a wide variety of acute care units including medical, surgical, trauma, oncology, orthopedics, neuro, vascular, pulmonary, and cardiac units based on facility needs
• Complete required training modules during orientation and annually, which vary by specialty
• Royal blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Previous employees are eligible to return
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Travel pairs are allowed
