Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a day shift assignment requiring TX or compact RN license and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Work in the ICU with potential to float to Progressive Care and Medical Surgical units
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Day shift schedule (4x12 hours, 7:00-19:00)
- 48 hours per week preferred, with 36/48 alternating schedule considered
- Epic charting system experience required
- Work settings include Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license in hand required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; PALS or ENPC required within 1 year of start date
- Preferred certifications: PALS and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration
- Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning (ETT, NT)
- Skilled in titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, continuous IV sedation, and paralytics
- Skilled in management of CVA/acute stroke, ICP monitoring, EVD, and post-neurosurgical care
- Skilled in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Skilled in management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and IV insulin protocols
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to complex ICU patients, including neuro, respiratory, renal, and multisystem organ dysfunction cases
- Must reside outside a 110-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
- Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
- Candidates should avoid any substances, including CBD products, that could result in a positive drug screen
