Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level IV Trauma Center, requiring TX or compact RN license and prior ED experience.

Details

• Level IV Trauma Center with a 9-bed Emergency Department serving a facility with 12 inpatient med/surg beds and 4 ORs
• Provides 24/7 emergency care for adult and pediatric patients with acute injuries and life-threatening conditions such as stroke, STEMI, fractures, concussions, and minor illnesses
• Patients requiring higher levels of care are stabilized and transferred to network hospitals
• Typical staffing is 2-4 RNs per shift depending on time of day
• Night shift schedule from 18:45-07:15
• 12-week assignment
• Uses Compass/Cerner EHR

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required (must be AHA)
• TNCC and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• NRP certification required (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics)
• Ascension CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) training required
• License and Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Copy of driver's license, full SS#, and DOB required for consideration
• Two separate professional references required

Additional Information

• Delivers direct nursing care and coordinates well-rounded patient care across disciplines
• Implements and monitors patient care plans, carrying out physician and nursing orders
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Will be trained as relief Charge Nurse and provide Critical Response support to the med/surg department
• Requires strong critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a stressful environment
• Navy blue scrubs required as part of dress code
