Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week contract requiring 2+ years of full lifespan (peds, adult, geriatric) experience and RRT/CRT certification.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy Services: Pulmonary unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center, Level II NICU, teaching hospital with Magnet designation and Primary Stroke Center status
• Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatric respiratory patients
• 1:1 patient ratios
• 12-hour day shifts with hours varying between 6a-6p and 10a-10p, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Potential floating to hospitals within the Patient Service Area based on contract
• Uses PB840, PB980, Servo-U, and Hamilton ventilators, V60, ResMed, and RemStar CPAP/BiPAP, Optiflow, and Hamilton transport vents
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years experience with full lifespan of patients (peds, adults, and geriatric)
• Active RT license required if applicable
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (AHA)
• RRT or CRT certification required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience with trachs, nitrous oxide procedures, proning techniques, ECMO, and critical care
• Experience with ventilator-associated pneumonia prevention, spontaneous breathing trials, and ABG draws
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidate date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

• Provide respiratory care across the full patient lifespan, from neonates to geriatric patients
• Supervisor support available on the unit
• One day of orientation on the unit
• Charcoal gray scrubs required
