Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiovascular Sonographer with adult transthoracic echocardiography experience for a Non-Invasive Cardiology unit.
Details
- Non-Invasive Cardiology unit performing adult transthoracic echocardiography procedures
- 10-hour day shifts, Monday-Saturday, varying days of the week between 6:30 AM-5:00 PM
- On-call one week every 4-5 weeks
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate's degree preferred
- ARRT (S) or ARDMS registry required
- RDCS or RCS certification required, or must obtain registry within 18 months of hire
- BLS certification required (AHA, must not expire prior to start)
- License required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of experience in cardiovascular sonography required
- Strong time management and workflow prioritization skills
- Experience collaborating with nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong patient identification and safety practices
Additional Information
- Perform ultrasound procedures using high frequency sound waves to evaluate internal organs and vessels for disease diagnosis
- Prepare exam rooms, obtain informed consent, and gather accurate clinical history
- Review patient history to determine proper protocol selection and explain examination methods to patients
- Assess patient status, complete diagnostic techniques, and perform necessary interventions
- Review and evaluate completed tests for quality, completeness, and accuracy
- Coordinate preparation of images and documentation for physician partners
- Document and communicate patient information thoroughly and accurately
- Communicate physician instructions and caregiver observations to patients
- Ensure safe and effective handoff between shifts
- Monitor equipment reliability and safety, reporting issues as needed
- Order and stock supplies, clean rooms and equipment to maintain work environment
- Transport patients as needed
- Participate in quality initiatives including patient satisfaction and care
- Former Intermountain permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least one year before eligibility for this assignment
