Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of recent acute care experience and a WI or compact RN license.
Details
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
- 1:5 patient ratio
- Day/Evening shift, 12-hour shifts (0700-1930)
- Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need
- Floating required as needed
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active WI RN or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to starting, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation criteria
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry unit monitoring
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
- Experience administering blood products, PCA, heparin, and insulin preferred
- Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac preferred
- Experience with oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and oral suctioning
- Experience with pre/post neurosurgery and total joint replacement care preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Must live 50+ miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Free onsite parking available
- Located at a newly built, advanced hospital and wellness center
- Travelers with 3+ years of Med/Surg experience may be considered even without prior travel experience
