Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with required craniotomy and burr hole experience for a fast-paced surgical unit.
Details
- Operating Room setting supporting Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Trauma, and General/Robotics/Trauma service lines
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday block schedule with call and late days as required
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Allscripts charting system preferred but not required
Requirements
- Active RN license (TX or Compact) required in hand at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- ACLS, CNOR, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications preferred
- 2 years of experience in the OR service line required
- Craniotomy and burr hole experience required
- Experience with trauma cases including amputations, burns, gunshot/stab wounds, and MVAs
- Neurological surgical experience including anterior cervical fusion, cervical fusion, craniotomy, kyphoplasty, laminectomy/discectomy, and lumbar fusion
- Orthopedic surgical experience including ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, arthrotomy, carpal tunnel release, and fracture reductions
- Spinal fusion and total joint replacement experience
- General surgery experience including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, and mastectomy
- Da Vinci Xi Surgical System robotics experience preferred
- Trauma Level I or II hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Travel experience preferred
Additional Information
- Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, and any positive result results in automatic cancellation
- Candidates should avoid any products, including CBD, that could result in a positive drug screen upon arrival
- Must reside within 150 miles for local candidate consideration under facility radius rules
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Previous permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting the offer or provide a completion plan
- Non-billable orientation modules average 6-8 hours and are completed during orientation
