Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and specialized fetal monitoring certification.
Details
- 13-week seasonal contract assignment on a 32-bed Labor & Delivery unit
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with rotating weekends
- No on-call requirements
- Staffing includes charge and co-charge nurses per shift with RN ratios of 1:1 to 1:2
- Uses Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, and ultrasound equipment
- Meditech EMR used
- Typical procedures include SVD, cerclages, C-sections, and TOLAC
- Permanent positions also available on this unit
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP (Advanced 9th Edition) certifications required
- Intermediate or advanced AWHONN or NCCEFM fetal monitoring certification required
- SVE competency and C-section circulation experience required
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D nursing experience required
- Internal monitor placement competency preferred
- Previous HCA assignment or employment preferred
- Experience in a high-volume Level IV unit preferred
- No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for laboring and postpartum patients including circulating for C-sections
- Work alongside a supportive team of charge and co-charge nurses on each shift
- Navy blue scrubs required; solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts permitted; t-shirts not acceptable
- Must maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude in a fast-paced unit
- Must adhere to unit attendance policies
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position; local candidates will not be considered
