Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Inpatient and outpatient mammography setting
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Performs 3-D mammography, diagnostic and screening mammograms, digital mammography, fine needle aspiration, needle localizations, and stereotactic biopsy
• Uses Hologic 3D equipment, PACS, and Synapse/Hologic imaging systems
• Epic charting system preferred
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• BLS certification required
• ARRT (M) or ARRT (R) certification preferred
• CA state license required if applicable
• Knowledge of digital quality assurance procedures, radiation safety, isolation precautions/PPE, and universal precautions/core measures
• Ability to teach breast self-exams preferred
• Management or lead experience is a plus

Additional Information

• Perform a variety of diagnostic and screening mammography procedures with attention to patient comfort and safety
• Educate patients on breast self-exam techniques as needed
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All time-off requests must be submitted upfront prior to starting the assignment
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility to accept the local pay rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
