Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of recent Med/Surg-Telemetry experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Community hospital Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit (2 West, Main Building)
• 27-bed unit staffed with 1 CNC, 5-6 RNs, and 3 CNAs per shift
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a
• 3 weekend shifts per month required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Common procedures include general surgery, Echo, EKG, colonoscopy, TEE, EEG, and wound vac care
• Equipment used includes Welch-Allyn vital sign machines, glucometers, Polar Ice, and CBI

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact license required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience required
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two professional references required for Missouri assignments

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med-Surg/Telemetry unit including monitoring, procedures, and coordination with care teams
• Daily multidisciplinary rounds (MDRs) held to coordinate patient care
• Case management and PT/OT/ST services located on the same floor as the unit
• Orientation to unit policies and procedures provided
• Opportunities for resourcing, precepting, and working with students
• Scrub color requirement: Grey for RN/LPN staff
• Unit has received Daisy and Bee Awards along with peer-to-peer recognition
• Open to block scheduling for travelers
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered
