Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring one year of recent inpatient acute care experience and a KS or compact RN license.

Details

• 24-bed Med/Surg unit (4 South, Tower B, 4th floor)
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a
• Staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs/LPNs, and 2 PCTs per shift, plus a unit clerk on days
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Weekend rotation of 4 shifts (Fri, Sat, or Sun) within a 4-week period
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Performs procedures including PIV, central line, foley, NG tube, and drain insertion/management/removal
• Manages wound care, ostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, and chest tubes
• Utilizes Alaris IV pumps, Hoyer/Sara Steady lifts, feeding pumps, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, iMobile, and vein finder equipment
• Supported by a Virtual Admission RN available 10am-10pm

Requirements

• Active KS RN license or multistate/compact license required
• BLS and NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient acute care experience required
• Basic dysrhythmia knowledge required
• Trauma center experience preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit handling a variety of acute care procedures
• Royal blue scrub color required; black pants permitted
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
