Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a night shift contract requiring WI or compact RN licensure and at least 2 years of RN Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Med/Surg unit within a Level IV Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center hospital
• Cares for all Med/Surg patient types with average ratio of up to 6 patients per nurse
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week from 19:30-07:30
• 36 standard hours per week on a 6-week schedule cycle
• Central telemetry monitoring supported by a dedicated tele tech
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to any Med/Surg unit as assigned by the House Supervisor

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN Med/Surg experience required
• Skilled in trach care, chest tubes, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and administering Lasix, insulin, and heparin drips
• Experience with wound vacs required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

• Supported by CNAs/Techs, HUC, RNs, Rapid Response Team, phlebotomy for peripheral draws, and Charge Nurse
• One shift of facility and unit orientation provided
• Holiday coverage required for one holiday per contract period based on organizational needs
• Scrubs must be a solid color with no logos

• Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months to be eligible
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved if willing to extend the contract accordingly
