Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN - Telemetry for a Med/Surg unit requiring at least 2 years of RN experience and offering night shift hours.

Details

• Med/Surg unit within a Level IV Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center hospital
• Cares for all Med/Surg patient types
• Average patient ratio up to 6 patients per nurse, depending on staffing
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week from 19:30-07:30
• 36 standard hours per week on a 6-week schedule cycle
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floats to any Med/Surg unit as assigned by the House Supervisor
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Telemetry monitoring supported by central monitoring with tele tech

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN Med/Surg experience required
• General Med/Surg skillset including traches, chest tubes, cardiac rhythm strip interpretation, Lasix/Insulin/Heparin drips, and wound vac management
• EPIC EMR experience required
• At least 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive Med/Surg nursing care with support from CNAs/Techs, HUC, RNs, Rapid Response Team, phlebotomy, and Charge Nurse
• Facility orientation consists of 1 shift
• Holiday coverage required for one holiday during the contract period based on organizational needs
• Scrubs must be a solid color with no logos

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No radius restrictions; local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible for travel assignments
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved if willing to extend the contract to accommodate
