Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a trauma center, requiring at least 1 year of experience and ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications.

Details

• 205-bed trauma center hospital with a 20-bed ICU and limited pediatric floor
• Services Medical, Surgical, Rehab, Progressive Care Unit, ICU, and limited pediatric patient populations
• 4-6 RTs on staff per shift
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required
• License required if applicable
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in adult and pediatric airway management including intubation assist, extubation, oral airway placement, and suctioning
• Experience with aerosol therapy including mask, medihaler, MDI, hand-held and ultrasonic nebulizers
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• ABG interpretation and basic EKG skills required

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across medical, surgical, rehab, progressive care, ICU, and limited pediatric units
• Perform tracheostomy care, sputum specimen collection, and ventilator management
• Olive green scrub color required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
