Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a trauma center, requiring at least 1 year of experience and ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications.
Details
- 205-bed trauma center hospital with a 20-bed ICU and limited pediatric floor
- Services Medical, Surgical, Rehab, Progressive Care Unit, ICU, and limited pediatric patient populations
- 4-6 RTs on staff per shift
- Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend
- Epic charting system required
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required
- License required if applicable
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skilled in adult and pediatric airway management including intubation assist, extubation, oral airway placement, and suctioning
- Experience with aerosol therapy including mask, medihaler, MDI, hand-held and ultrasonic nebulizers
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- ABG interpretation and basic EKG skills required
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care across medical, surgical, rehab, progressive care, ICU, and limited pediatric units
- Perform tracheostomy care, sputum specimen collection, and ventilator management
- Olive green scrub color required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify
- Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
