Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring Level 1 trauma center experience and specialized cardiac and critical care skills.

Details

• Medical Intensive Care Unit setting within a hospital
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• 13-week contract length
• Every other weekend required, with flexibility based on staffing needs or traveler preference
• No call requirements
• Floating required between ICU and Telemetry units
• Meditech EMR experience strongly preferred, but ability to quickly learn is acceptable

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• At least 2 years of ICU experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center required for first-time travelers
• Impella and balloon pump experience required
• Skilled in stroke care and STEMI management
• Proficient in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
• Experience with arterial line and central line management
• Skilled in titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and emergency medications
• Knowledge of CVA/acute stroke management and dysrhythmia interpretation and treatment
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and blood product administration
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to medically complex ICU patients, including those requiring advanced cardiac and respiratory support
• Navy blue scrubs required for this unit
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• First-time travelers considered if minimum experience requirements are met
• Mile radius rule applies for eligibility
