Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of specialty experience and PALS/ACLS certification for an evening shift assignment.
Details
- Respiratory therapy across adult critical care, emergency department, NICU, and pediatric settings
- Cares for patients with conditions such as ARDS, aspiration, bronchoscopy, COVID, cystic fibrosis, ECMO, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
- Performs neonatal/pediatric procedures including bubble CPAP, CPAP/nasal CPAP/BIPAP, IMV/SIMV, intubation assist, and oscillating ventilator management
- Manages ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency jet ventilator, and high frequency oscillator, including troubleshooting high pressure alarms and weaning patients from mechanical ventilation
- Administers medications via aerosol setups, MDI, and nebulizers, including Albuterol, Atrovent, Bicarbonate, Combivent, and others
- Performs airway management including intubation/extubation assist, nasal/oral airway placement, and suctioning
- Draws and interprets arterial blood gases
- Uses Epic charting system (preferred)
- Evening shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 15:00-03:30
- Works every other weekend and holiday
Requirements
- RRT required
- ACLS and BLS required
- PALS and NRP preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
- Trauma Level I and/or Level II experience preferred
- Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration
- License required if applicable
- 2 valid professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years, along with copies of certifications, required for consideration
Additional Information
- Works within adult critical care, emergency department, NICU, and pediatric care teams
- Performs chest physiotherapy, including vest therapy
- Collects sputum specimens and performs tracheostomy care/management
- PA fingerprints required and must be completed within 1 week of signing contract
- Labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing
- Local candidates accepted within 50-mile radius at a different rate
- First-time travelers considered
