Description
American Traveler is hiring a Hospice RN for home care visits requiring a Maine or compact RN license and at least one year of hospice specialty experience.
Details
- Home Health and Hospice setting providing in-home patient visits across the South Portland territory
- Office census averages 85-90 patients with case managers averaging 15-20 patients each
- Patient population includes oncology, dementia/Alzheimer's, end-stage CHF/COPD, and end-stage neurological conditions (ALS, MS, Parkinson's)
- Uses Netsmart EMR
- IV pumps provided through vendor
- Schedule is 5 (8) hour days, Monday through Friday, business hours 8 AM to 5 PM
- Weekend rotation required typically once or twice per month depending on staffing needs
- Overnight on-call rotation from 5 PM to 8 AM, typically once or twice per month
- May be asked to float to other agency locations if South Portland census is low
Requirements
- Active RN license for the State of Maine (ME or compact)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of hospice specialty experience required
- Valid driver's license required, must use own vehicle to travel between patient homes
- Nursing skills appropriate for hospice and palliative diagnoses
Additional Information
- Provide hospice nursing care through home visits to patients with serious and end-stage illnesses
- Supported by scheduling, clinical manager, and lead support team
- Orientation period of 1-2 weeks
- Holiday coverage required if assignment falls on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas
- RTO requires manager approval
- Business casual attire or scrubs accepted, no specific color requirement
- Onsite parking available at the office for meetings and supply pickup
- First-time travelers considered only if they have hospice experience
- Travelers with 1 year of experience will be accepted
