Description
American Traveler is seeking a Hospice RN with at least 1 year of hospice experience for a home care position requiring a valid driver's license and personal vehicle.
Details
- Home care and hospice setting serving a territory with an average census of 85-90 patients
- Case managers average 15-20 patients
- Care for patients with oncology diagnoses, dementia/Alzheimer's, end stage CHF/COPD, and end stage neurological conditions (ALS, MS, Parkinson's)
- Uses Netsmart EMR
- IV pumps provided through vendor
- Schedule is 5 (8) hour days, Monday through Friday, business hours 8 AM to 5 PM
- Weekend rotation typically once or twice a month depending on staffing needs
- Overnight on-call rotation from 5 PM to 8 AM, typically once or twice a month
- May float to support other agency locations if South Portland territory census is low
Requirements
- Active RN license for the State of Maine (ME or compact license required)
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of hospice experience required
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required for traveling between patient homes
Additional Information
- Provide hospice nursing care to patients with complex diagnoses in their homes
- Supported by scheduling, clinical manager, and lead support team
- Orientation lasts 1-2 weeks
- Holiday coverage required if assignment aligns with major holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas)
- RTO requires manager approval
- Business casual attire or scrubs accepted, no specific color requirement
- Onsite parking available at the office for meetings and supply pickup
- First-time travelers considered only if they have hospice experience
