Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with hyperbaric oxygen therapy and wound care experience for a day shift hospital position with no weekends required.

Details

• Hospital-based Hyperbaric/Wound Care unit
• Provides care for patients requiring hyperbaric oxygen treatment (HBOT) and wound management
• 2:1 patient ratio
• Monday through Friday day shift schedule, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• No weekend shifts required

Requirements

• Active RRT state license required at time of consideration, no exceptions (license required if applicable)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• CHT or CHRN certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
• Completion of an approved UHMS 40-hour Hyperbaric Treatment training required
• Experience with wound treatments including alginates, foams, hydrocolloids, hydrogels, enzymatic debriding agents, and wound vac therapy preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted if experienced HBO Clinician

Additional Information

• Operate and maintain hyperbaric chamber equipment and ancillary devices according to UHMS and NFPA safety guidelines
• Provide individualized preventive and supportive wound care in coordination with medical staff
• Participate in emergency procedures and drills related to hyperbaric treatment
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of hyperbaric chambers and equipment
• Apply infection control and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Conduct patient and family teaching related to wound care and HBOT
• Utilize ulcer and prevention risk assessment tools for adult patients
• Smoke-free facility
• No radius rule for this facility; local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• RTO requests reviewed and approved on a per-case basis
