Description
American Traveler seeks a Clinic RN for Radiation Oncology requiring an active CO RN license and 2+ years of Radiation Oncology nursing experience.
Details
- Clinic-based Radiation Oncology setting
- Schedule of 4x10-hour shifts, weekdays
- 13-week assignment length
- Guaranteed hours will not apply on holidays for clinic workers
Requirements
- Active Colorado RN license in good standing (License required if applicable)
- Current BLS and ACLS certification through American Heart Association
- Minimum 2 years of RN Radiation Oncology experience required (Medical Oncology experience does not qualify)
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinic environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
- Knowledge of chronic illness and comorbidity management
- Current knowledge of hematology/oncology and internal medicine trends, skills, procedures, and protocols
- Understanding of evidence-based oncology, immunology, pharmacology, community health, and cultural sensitivity practices
- Proof of flu vaccination required with no exemptions
Additional Information
- Function collaboratively with the Radiation Oncology Team to provide continuity and quality patient care
- Assess and provide nursing interventions related to disease process, treatment course, and follow-up period
- Provide teaching, counseling, and supportive functions to help patients and families cope with cancer diagnosis and treatment
- Assist Radiation Oncologist with patient evaluation and examination
- Serve as liaison between Radiation Oncology and other hospitals, departments, physician groups, and support groups
- Coordinate referrals for alternative resources including rehabilitation, nursing home care, hospice, and nutritional services
- Radius rule requires candidates live at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
