Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position requiring 2+ years of experience, ACLS/BLS certification, and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Stepdown Cardiac unit of a hospital environment
• Cardiac telemetry patient population including pre/post cardiac cath, angiogram, and cardiac surgery cases
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• Uses Paragon charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac stepdown nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience managing cardiac drips (titration preferred)
• Experience with central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and ABG interpretation
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response
• Participate in use of rapid response and code teams as needed
• No RTO permitted from 2/08/27 through 3/31/27 due to facility Epic implementation
• RTO cannot be taken a full week at a time
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers not accepted for this role
