Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position requiring 2+ years of cardiac telemetry experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Stepdown Cardiac unit
• Cardiac telemetry patient population with 4:1 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• Uses Paragon charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac stepdown nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience managing cardiac drips (titration preferred)
• Skilled in IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and phlebotomy
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery care
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
• Two references required for consideration, may be pending at time of submission
• Copies of driver's license and social security card required

Additional Information

• Provide advanced nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients including monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post-procedural care
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• No RTO permitted from 2/08/27 – 3/31/27 due to facility Epic implementation
• RTO cannot be taken a week at a time
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Local candidates are not accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Travel pairs are allowed for this assignment
