Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Short term acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center designation
- MS/Tele unit with Neuro Tele patient population
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00
- Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
- Floating between units required
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at submission
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response required
- Experience with telemetry remote monitoring, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Neuro stepdown experience preferred
- Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, craniotomy, aneurysm repair, intracranial bleeds, post-TPA care, and spinal cord injury preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Provide med/surg telemetry nursing care to neurological patients, including monitoring for dysrhythmias and coordinating rapid response/code team activation as needed
- Perform respiratory support including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
- Follow isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols
- Uniform/dress code requires solid navy blue scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3 month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Candidates must reside outside a 50 mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
