Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Short term acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center designation
• MS/Tele unit with Neuro Tele patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00
• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
• Floating between units required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response required
• Experience with telemetry remote monitoring, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Neuro stepdown experience preferred
• Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, craniotomy, aneurysm repair, intracranial bleeds, post-TPA care, and spinal cord injury preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide med/surg telemetry nursing care to neurological patients, including monitoring for dysrhythmias and coordinating rapid response/code team activation as needed
• Perform respiratory support including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
• Follow isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols
• Uniform/dress code requires solid navy blue scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3 month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must reside outside a 50 mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
