Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Step Down RN for a night shift assignment requiring cardiac telemetry skills and a TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Step Down unit with a mixture of med/surg and intermediate care patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on assignment
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), with 36 or 48 hour options
- May be required to take Med/Surg patients during overflow situations
- Epic charting system experience preferred
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Cardiac telemetry skills including monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care for telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and MS/Tele patients
- Responsibilities may include IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and management of cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
- Support for respiratory care including oxygen administration, BiPAP/CPAP, and airway management
- Care for patients with conditions such as CVA, renal failure, and substance withdrawal
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
