Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Neuro ICU position requiring at least 1 year of dedicated Neuro ICU experience and a CO or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a 24-bed Neurosurgical ICU within a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level I Trauma Center
- High acuity, fast-paced surgical ICU environment
- Day and night rotating shifts (3x12 hours), various days of the week
- Weekend shifts required per unit needs
- No on-call responsibilities
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Floating required, including to sister facilities within the Metro region as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in a dedicated Neuro specialty ICU
- Competent in hourly neurological assessments
- Experience with intracranial pressure management
- Experience with External Ventricular Drain (EVD) management
- Experience with subarachnoid hemorrhage management
- Experience with post-thrombectomy patient management
- Experience with post-craniotomy patient management (including post brain tumor resection)
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive neurological monitoring and critical care to high-acuity ICU patients
- Navy scrub color required
