Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology Clinic RN for an outpatient infusion center position requiring CA RN licensure and chemotherapy certification.

• Outpatient infusion center within an oncology clinic setting
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
• Minimum 4 years of relevant nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, infusion administration, and port access/management
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and management of related side effects
• Experience recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies (e.g., tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation, sepsis)
• Experience caring for patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses (e.g., breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, lymphoma)
• Skilled in central line and PICC line care
• Knowledge of oncology-related medications including antiemetics, corticosteroids, and hormonal therapy

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in an outpatient oncology infusion setting, including chemotherapy administration and symptom management
• Collaborate on patient/family education, psychosocial care, and care coordination
• Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies and abnormal lab values
• Maintain neutropenic precautions and appropriate isolation/PPE protocols
• Holiday coverage required for one designated holiday per contract, selected from New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Returning staff or travelers must have a minimum 1-year separation before reapplying
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for standard travel rate eligibility
