Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring documented med/tele experience and a Level 1 trauma center background.
Details
- 32-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit serving adult and older adult patients
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Cares for trauma patients receiving Heparin drips and other acute medications as ordered
- Uses specialty equipment including gait belts, geriatric chairs, and PT equipment
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
- Uses Epic EMR
- No on-call requirements
- Expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Documented Med/Surg Telemetry experience required along with a completed skills checklist
- Prior experience in a high-acuity, high-volume Level 1 trauma center required
- Experience managing critical, fast-paced trauma situations required
- Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
- Skilled Nursing/Rehab experience and prior NICHE training are a plus
Additional Information
- Provides care to a high-acuity trauma population in an inner-city Level 1 trauma center
- No RTO permitted during the assignment
- Block scheduling is generally not approved
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
