Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of acute care experience and ACLS certification.
Details
- Medical Surgical Telemetry unit within a 171-bed community hospital and regional referral center
- Level III Trauma Center and Certified Chest Pain Center
- Adult and geriatric patient population including total joint, surgical, ACS, CHF, CKD, alcohol withdrawal, SIRS, and GIB patients
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- 3x12 shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Weekly guaranteed hours of 36
- Weekend requirement of 4 shifts within a 4-week schedule period
- No formal on-call requirement, though scheduled shifts may be flexed to on-call up to twice during the contract
- Floating to other units such as IMC and ED is expected
- Uses Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing cabinets, and Zoll defibrillators
- Medhost EHR system
Requirements
- Active RN license (AZ or Compact) required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- ADN required
- Recent acute care and telemetry experience required
- Ability to manage a 1:6 patient ratio
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Preceptor or charge nurse experience is a plus
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- AHA certifications required
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry-based nursing care for a diverse adult and geriatric patient population
- Weekly orientation provided
- Compassionate, positive, and can-do attitude preferred
- Black scrubs (top and bottom) required; open-toed shoes not permitted
- Must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
- Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
- Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
- First-time travelers may be considered
