Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of acute care experience and AZ or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Community hospital and regional referral center with 171 beds, Joint Commission accredited, Level III Trauma and Certified Chest Pain Center
• Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with 40 beds
• Adult and geriatric patient population including total joint, surgical, ACS, CHF, CKD, alcohol withdrawal, SIRS, and GIB cases
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12s from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No standing on-call requirement, though scheduled shifts may be flexed to on-call up to twice during the contract
• Floating to other units such as IMC and ED is expected
• Uses Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing cabinets, and Zoll defibrillators
• Medhost EHR

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license
• Current ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• ADN required
• Recent acute care and telemetry experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Ability to handle a 1:6 patient ratio
• Preceptor or charge experience is a plus
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Active Nursys licensure verification required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Deliver telemetry-based nursing care to a diverse adult and geriatric med/surg population
• Compassionate, positive, can-do attitude preferred
• Black scrubs (top and bottom) required; open-toed shoes not permitted
• Weekly orientation offered
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time while on assignment
