Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of acute care experience and ACLS certification.

Details

• Medical Surgical Telemetry unit within a 171-bed community hospital and regional referral center
• Level III Trauma Center and Certified Chest Pain Center
• Adult and geriatric patient population including total joint, surgical, ACS, CHF, CKD, alcohol withdrawal, SIRS, and GIB cases
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule of 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3x12s
• Every other weekend required, equating to 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• No standing on-call requirement, though scheduled shifts may flex to an on-call shift up to twice during the contract
• Floating to other units such as IMC and ED is expected
• Uses Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicel medication dispensing, and Zoll defibrillators
• Medhost EHR system used

Requirements

• Active RN license (AZ or Compact) required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• ADN required
• Recent acute care and telemetry experience required
• Ability to manage a 1:6 patient ratio required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Preceptor and charge experience is a plus
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-based nursing care to a diverse med/surg population with acute and chronic conditions
• Weekly orientation is offered
• Compassionate, positive, and can-do attitude preferred
• Black scrubs required for both top and bottom, and open-toed shoes are not permitted
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet experience requirements
