Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery/LDRP role requiring AWHONN FHM, NRP, and ACLS certifications along with a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a Labor and Delivery unit with 6 LDR beds, a 2-bay PACU, 2 OR suites, 3 triage beds, and 3 outpatient testing beds
• Care for labor, OB triage, and OB surgical patients with a staffing ratio of 1-2:1 for labor patients
• Utilizes OB emergency skills including hemorrhage and hypertension management
• RNs circulate OB surgical cases
• Night shift schedule, 3x12s, 7p-7a
• Weekend and holiday rotation required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• AWHONN FHM, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency administering medications and performing procedures such as wound care and IV therapy

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination for L&D and OB surgical patients
• Facilitate patient and family education and support discharge planning in coordination with Case Management
• Mentor staff members and nursing students, and assist with orientation of new staff
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction and safety initiatives
• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility, with local candidates accepted at a lower pay rate
