Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN requiring WI or compact RN licensure, Epic experience, and successful completion of a telemetry proficiency exam.
Details
- MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Day/evening 12-hour shifts, 0700-1930
- Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in med/surg or tele specialty
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must pass telemetry exam prior to starting assignment, including strict criteria on lethal rhythm identification and heart block interpretation
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Skills with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV therapy, wound care, and respiratory support required or preferred
Additional Information
- Provide care to med/surg and telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams
- Perform gastrointestinal, endocrine, orthopedic, and neurological/psychiatric care as needed
- Administer medications including heparin, insulin, and PCA
- Manage wound care including wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
- Free onsite parking available
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Travelers with 3+ years of med/surg experience may be considered even without prior travel experience
- Telemetry exam allows two attempts to pass, with a third attempt possible after completing a cardiac interpretation review course
