Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVICU RN for a Level I trauma teaching hospital requiring CRRT/NextStage CVVH proficiency and a WI or compact RN license.
Details
- Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting in a Level I trauma teaching hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Day/Night rotation, 3x12-hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730)
- Every other weekend required with some holiday coverage
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (WI or compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in CVICU
- Epic EMR experience required, within the past 12 months preferred
- Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required
- Trauma Level I hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable unit experience preferred
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict criteria prior to start, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% or higher passing score on adult and pediatric exams
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing for post cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization, and cardiovascular intervention patients
- Manage complex cardiovascular support devices including IABP, Impella, LVAD/RVAD, and CVVHD/CRRT as needed
- Perform arterial line, central line, and PICC line management along with ventilator care and respiratory support
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips and administer continuous IV sedation or paralytics as required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Previous travel experience required
