Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (Tele/Onc) role requiring ACLS/BLS certification and prior PCU or cardiac telemetry experience.
Details
- Work on the 2EW Tele/Onc unit within a 226-bed non-profit community hospital, with 34 beds on the unit
- Care for a mix of general medical, cardiac, and oncology patients, including DMII, GI, GU, COVID, PNA, AMS, TIA, AKI, sepsis, stroke, CHF, MI, afib with RVR, and NSTEMI cases
- High volume of post-cath lab patients requiring TR band and fresh cath monitoring with q15 min checks
- May care for oncology patients but not required to administer chemotherapy unless specified
- High Spanish-speaking (30%) and underserved patient population
- Uses Epic EMR
- 12-hour Day shifts (7a-7p) and Night shifts (7p-7a)
- 36 hours per week with weekend rotation required at least twice per month
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope throughout the hospital
- Any color scrubs permitted
Requirements
- Active WA or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required
- First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years total nursing experience, including 1 year in PCU
- Skilled in trach care, chest tube management, TR band care, post-cath lab care, and central line maintenance
- Must be comfortable reading, interpreting, and measuring cardiac rhythms
- Experience caring for patients on BiPAP and high-flow oxygen required
- Comfortable managing cardiac patients and titratable drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix
