Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PCU Tele/Onc unit requiring at least 1 year of PCU experience and comfort managing titratable cardiac drips.

Details

  • Work on a 34-bed Progressive Care Unit (Tele/Onc) within a 226-bed non-profit community hospital
  • 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a)
  • 36 hours per week
  • Weekend rotation required at least 2 times per month (Friday/Saturday nights considered weekend; Sunday nights do not count)
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within scope throughout the hospital
  • Cares for general medical, cardiac, and oncology patient populations
  • High volume of post-cath lab patients requiring TR bands, stent placement familiarity, and q15 min checks on fresh cath patients (no sheaths, no art lines)
  • May care for oncology patients but chemo administration not required unless specified
  • Serves a diverse population including a high volume of Spanish-speaking (30%) and underserved/charity care patients
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active WA or Compact RN license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required
  • First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years total nursing experience, including 1 year in PCU
  • Skilled in trach care, chest tube management, TR band care, post cath lab care, and central line maintenance
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and measure cardiac rhythms
  • Comfortable caring for patients on BiPAP and high flow O2
  • Comfortable administering and titrating drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix
  • Comfortable caring for cardiac patients
