Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and BLS certification.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit setting with a patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Floating within scope required based on facility needs
• Uses Meditech Expanse EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (Indiana or Compact) required in-hand prior to start
• BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, and CMSRN or RN-BC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Meditech charting experience preferred
• Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
• Travel RN experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management preferred
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia management preferred
• Wound care and isolation precaution/PPE knowledge preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across a variety of Med/Surg conditions including gastrointestinal, respiratory, renal, neurological, and cardiac cases
• Support surgical patients including orthopedic, plastics, and total joint replacement cases
• Requires strong teamwork, self-direction, time management, and communication skills in a fast-paced environment
• Call outs must be reported more than a week in advance
• Local candidates accepted within an 80-mile radius at the local rate
• First-time travelers considered depending on experience level
