Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring active CA licensure and 2+ years of L&D experience including c-section circulating duties.

Details

• Care for labor and delivery, antepartum, mother/baby, and post-partum patients
• Experience circulating for c-sections required
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating to other units required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 following AWHONN staffing guidelines
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM
• AWHONN Intermediate certification required, AWHONN Advanced preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Skilled in fetal heart monitoring, IV therapy, and administration of high-risk medications such as Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate
• Experience with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, hemorrhage/shock management, and forceps/vacuum extraction
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, antepartum, and postpartum nursing care
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, c-section recovery, and newborn assessments including APGAR scoring
• Support breastfeeding and lactation efforts along with newborn discharge teaching
• Perform fetal monitoring including internal and external EFM and IUPC placement
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local rate
• Local candidates accepted at local rate
• Returning employees must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only one holiday approved for time off
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• Lab work must be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
• First-time travelers not considered for this position
