Description
American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years acute PCU experience and a KY or compact RN license.
Details
- Advanced Surgical Med-Surg unit with 32 beds and a patient ratio of 5-6:1
- Cares for bariatric, GI, and colorectal surgical patients
- RN reads telemetry, no titration required
- Administers medications including TPN and pain management
- Utilizes skills such as PCA, feeding tubes, trach care, peritoneal dialysis, and wound vac management
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Night shift schedule from 18:45-07:15, 3 shifts per week
- Every other weekend required
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
- Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
- Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, and implementation of the plan of care
- Facilitates patient and family education throughout treatment and at discharge
- Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and functions as a mentor/preceptor
- Participates in quality, safety, and service improvement efforts
- Complies with regulatory standards and organizational care model
