Description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist for an evening shift hospital assignment requiring ARRT certification and MRI experience in an acute care setting.

Details

• Magnetic Resonance Imaging department in a hospital setting
• Level 2 Trauma Center environment
• 5x8 evening shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• No weekend shifts required
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• ARRT(MR) or ARRT(R) required, or ARMRIT certification accepted
• BLS certification required (AHA, not expiring prior to start)
• 1-2 years of MRI Tech hospital experience strongly preferred
• 6-12 months of acute care experience strongly preferred
• Level 2 Trauma Center experience strongly preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience required
• Active state license required if applicable
• Must meet departmental IV certification competency within three months of hire
• Physical ability for hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, seeing, and standing

Additional Information

• Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and patient preparation for MRI exams
• Performs MRI examinations per department protocol, demonstrating anatomical positioning competency
• Selects proper scanning techniques and protocols in coordination with radiologist
• Administers intravenous contrast material as ordered under radiologist or physician supervision
• Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques
• Operates and troubleshoots MRI equipment including magnet, cryogens, and gradient amplifiers
• Understands MRI safety policy including the Four Zone concept and quench procedures
• Completes required documentation including time stamps and image storage accurately
• Follows protocol for medical necessity, coding, charging, and quality control reporting
• Returning Intermountain staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before eligibility for a travel assignment
