Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position at a hospital with a Medical ICU and Surgical Trauma ICU requiring ACLS and BLS certification.

Details

• Work in a 32-bed Medical ICU and 16-bed Surgical Trauma ICU
• Both units staffed with a Charge Nurse and Unit Clerk
• Staffing ratios are 1:2 for ICU and 1:3 for IMC, with 1:1 ratios for IABP, CRRT, and Impella patients
• Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
• Uses Cerner Powerchart EMR for inpatient units
• Potential to float to acute care or ED if staffing needs are greater

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Diploma from an accredited school of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire
• Knowledge of CRRT, CABG, Trauma (TCAR/TNCC), and Impella preferred
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provides direct nursing care including implementing and monitoring patient care plans
• Serves as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate
