Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital, requiring 2 years of acute care case management/discharge planning experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in the Case Management/Utilization Review department
• Day shift, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Patient ratios of 1:25 on weekdays and 1:45 on weekends
• Weekend work required to meet department needs (every other weekend)
• No floating expected to other units
• Business attire or scrubs accepted as dress code

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required, pending licenses accepted if licensed by start date
• Minimum 2 years of acute care case management/discharge planning experience required
• Hospital experience required; behavioral health experience does not qualify
• Must be a seasoned traveler, first-time travelers will not be considered
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities (permanent, travel, or per-diem), including location and dates if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include admission criteria review, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, disease management, needs assessment/DME ordering, plan of care, prior authorizations, and regulatory compliance (CMS, Department of Health, DRG, The Joint Commission)
• Experience across ED, ICU, Med-Surg, and Surgical Services specialties is relevant to this role
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days, with all requests submitted upfront during the application process
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate; candidates residing within 50 miles are subject to local rules
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities in the surrounding area
