Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Pediatric ICU night shift position requiring PICU or NICU experience and RRT certification.

Details

• Provides pediatric and neonatal respiratory care within the PICU, NICU, emergency department, and pediatric/adult acute and intermediate care units
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts
• No on-call requirement
• May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit policy

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required, PICU or NICU experience required
• Current BLS and RRT certification required
• NRP and PALS certifications preferred
• OR state license required if applicable, pending license acceptable with agreement to apply once offered
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management, airway management, and diagnostic respiratory procedures
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment such as CPAP, oscillating ventilators, and high frequency jet ventilators preferred
• Proof of COVID vaccination required with no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• Delivers therapeutic interventions including airway management, ventilator management, newborn resuscitation, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Performs diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood sampling, bedside spirometry, and point-of-care testing
• Applies age-specific communication and care approaches in line with the hospital's Family Centered Care Program
• Collaborates with other respiratory care practitioners and healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care
• Assists in training new respiratory therapists, students, and healthcare team members
• Maintains ongoing competency through required in-services, testing, and equipment training
• Documents and charges for all services provided per hospital policy
• First-time travelers are accepted for this unit
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mileage radius restriction
• Returning staff must have a gap of at least 6 months since their last assignment to be eligible
• Requested time off must be submitted upfront and not exceed two weeks
