Description
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a children's hospital, requiring PICU or NICU experience and RRT certification.
Details
- Provide respiratory care to patients in the NICU, PICU, emergency department, and pediatric & adult acute/intermediate care units
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- No call requirements
- Candidates may be required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit needs
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, with PICU or NICU experience preferred
- BLS and RRT certification required
- NRP and PALS certifications preferred
- Oregon state license required if applicable, pending license accepted with ability to apply once offered
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required for consideration
- Experience with ventilator management, airway management, and neonatal/pediatric respiratory equipment
- COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions
Additional Information
- Provide therapeutic interventions including airway management, ventilator management, newborn resuscitation, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Perform diagnostic procedures including arterial blood sampling, bedside spirometry, and point of care testing
- Deliver age-specific care in alignment with the hospital's Family Centered Care Program
- Assist and train other Respiratory Care Practitioners, students, and healthcare team members
- Complete required competency testing and in-services to maintain scope of practice
- Chart and charge for all services provided per hospital policy
- First-time travelers accepted for this position
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
- Returning staff must have a break of 6 or more months since their last assignment before returning as a traveler
- Requested time off must be submitted upfront and should not exceed 2 weeks
