Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a NICU Level III position requiring documented NICU III and PICU skills experience and 1.5+ years of experience.

Details

• Based in NICU Level III with floating to PICU, PEDS/NBN, and Mother/baby (newborn care only, no maternal care)
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00-20:00)
• 37.5 hours per week
• Every other weekend required (Saturday/Sunday)
• Patient assignments based on skill set with ratios varying by acuity
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 designated holidays

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• NRP certification highly preferred
• Minimum 1.5 years of NICU experience required
• Documented NICU III and PICU skills experience in employment history required
• Experience with neonates less than 24-28 weeks gestation
• Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central/implanted line care
• Experience with UAC (Umbilical Artery Catheter) and UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter)
• Cardiovascular skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Gastrointestinal skills including feedings and NG/OG/NJ tube placement and management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE
• Experience with IV vasopressors, steroids, and surfactant administration
• Experience managing Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
• Ventilator management skills (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)

• Float pool position supporting NICU III, NICU IV, and PICU levels of care
• Navy pants with pediatric-themed scrub top required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Former RWJBH employees (full-time or PRN) must be separated from the health system for at least one year before returning as a traveler
