Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit / IMCU position requiring an active NY RN license in hand and Epic EMR experience.

Details

• 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) functioning as a critical care step-down unit
• Receives patients from the Emergency Department, PACU, ICU, and medical-surgical floors
• Adult acute care patient population requiring continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Cares for patients needing airway management, acute BiPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated IV infusions
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg-level care
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand, no exceptions
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and Rapid Response/Code team utilization
• Experience with peripheral line care/management
• Experience with respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Experience with non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions

• Care for critical care step-down patients using a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach
• Tertiary care hospital with 528 staffed beds
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy and white
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Candidates must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Returning staff must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
