Description

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a Progressive Care/IMCU unit position requiring an active NY license, EPIC experience, and NIHSS certification.

Details

• Works in a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU/PCU) at a tertiary care hospital
• Receives patients from the ED, PACU, ICU, and medical-surgical floors requiring step-down critical care
• All patients on continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg-level acuity
• Cares for patients requiring airway management, BiPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated IV medications
• Shift is 4x12 Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand, no exceptions
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experienced in peripheral line care and management
• Competent in respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions

Additional Information

• Delivers care using a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach for acute care adult patients requiring specialized monitoring
• Scrub color must be a combination of navy and white
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Prior travel experience preferred
• Returning staff must have a 6-month gap system-wide before reapplying
• Candidates cannot have more than 10 days of requested time off (RTO) to be considered
