Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of experience and openness to first-time travelers.
Details
- Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds
- Respiratory Therapy department covering neonates through geriatrics
- Primarily works in ICUs, EDs, and PCUs, with secondary support in NICU under direction of primary RT
- Patient ratios assigned via point system
- EMR: EPIC
- Equipment includes GEM blood gas machine, Pyxis, Medtronic 980 ventilators, Draeger ventilators, LTV ventilators, and Servo NIV
- 12-hour night shifts (1800-0630) with 30-minute paid lunch and three 15-minute rest periods
- 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
- Must be available to work 7 days a week with no self-scheduling
- Floating required through all ICU/ER/PCU areas, NICU as secondary during surges, and occasionally to inpatient rehab unit
- No call requirements
- At least one holiday coverage expected
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (must have scheduled class prior to starting if not already certified)
- CRT or RRT credential required
- State licensure required if applicable
- Skilled in ABG draw and analysis, BiPAP, CPAP, and ventilator/trach management
- Knowledgeable in various respiratory therapies and equipment
- Neonate experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care across critical care areas including ICUs, EDs, PCUs, and NICU
- Work alongside a supervisor, lead RT, and other respiratory therapists for unit support
- Orientation includes 1-2 days of hospital orientation followed by 3x 12-hour shifts 1:1 with a Lead RT
- Schedules created 6 weeks at a time with 2 weeks' notice for changes
- Time off requests of up to 5 days can be approved by the RT Manager
- COVID-19 vaccination required
- Scrubs may be any color except camo or denim, and must maintain a professional appearance
