Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a NICU night shift position at a teaching hospital, requiring NICU experience and NRP certification.
Details
- NICU setting within a teaching hospital respiratory therapy unit
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
- Epic charting system experience required
- Involves neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures including bubble CPAP, CPAP/nasal CPAP/BIPAP, oscillating and pressure/volume ventilators
- Assists with high-risk deliveries and intubation
- Performs inter-departmental neonatal transports and ambulance transport
Requirements
- Active Ohio Respiratory Therapy License required if applicable, must be in hand at time of submission
- CRT or RRT credential required
- NRP certification required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- NICU experience required
- High School and College diplomas/transcripts required
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Experience preferred with nitric oxide (iNO), oscillator ventilation, NAVA, bubble CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, neonatal ventilator management, and high-risk deliveries
Additional Information
- Works as part of the NICU respiratory care team managing critically ill neonatal patients
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; coworker references are not accepted
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees are ineligible to be hired as travelers at this facility
- RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- First-time travelers may be considered for this role
