Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a NICU night shift position at a teaching hospital, requiring NICU experience and NRP certification.

Details

• NICU setting within a teaching hospital respiratory therapy unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
• Epic charting system experience required
• Involves neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures including bubble CPAP, CPAP/nasal CPAP/BIPAP, oscillating and pressure/volume ventilators
• Assists with high-risk deliveries and intubation
• Performs inter-departmental neonatal transports and ambulance transport

Requirements

• Active Ohio Respiratory Therapy License required if applicable, must be in hand at time of submission
• CRT or RRT credential required
• NRP certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• NICU experience required
• High School and College diplomas/transcripts required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Experience preferred with nitric oxide (iNO), oscillator ventilation, NAVA, bubble CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, neonatal ventilator management, and high-risk deliveries

Additional Information

• Works as part of the NICU respiratory care team managing critically ill neonatal patients
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; coworker references are not accepted
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as travelers at this facility
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
